An awesome composer named Michael Picton, who would probably object to being listed as « equipment » but also will probably not read this.
Also, to those considering a visit to the salton sea, be warned that it can get up to 110-120 degrees, you’ll be far from a garage should you break down, and it can smell pretty awful. Late fall and early spring are much better times to go!

« My first attempt at HDR tone mapping timelapse.
We start off with normal timelapse and then go into the 3 and 7 bracket tone mapped HDR timelapses.
I wanted to create a sense of colour and insanity that Las Vegas gives you. All from one view point. My balcony. With that restriction can you do it? Well I did it before in my two previous timelapses…
This was harder in a way as there was no single focal point like in the Sydney Harbour piece or the Space Needle piece.
I made a virtue of the HDR tone mapping with the change of pace in the music and also my use of bookends which I love.

How To Build A Full Studio At A Music Festival
Eric Schwabel’s unique photo project at BM2010. The production funds were raised through a kickstarter.com campaign. Stills were shot on a Mamiya 645 AFD with DM28 digital back. Lights are Profoto Pro-b2 kits with Pro-7 heads.
